New visas policy in the UAE started from next month

Full details of the new visas that will come into effect in the UAE from next month have been revealed, with the reforms taking effect from next month including 5-year green residency, permits for job hunters and tourists.

According to Khaleej Times, an expanded golden visa scheme, a new five-year green residency, a multiple-entry tourist visa and a job-hunting entry permit are among the many residency reforms that will come into effect next month, according to Khaleej Times. The new visas and entry permits are part of the biggest immigration and residency reforms adopted in the UAE.

The new system is said to benefit expatriates living and working in the UAE, as well as tourists, making the UAE even more investor-friendly for expats and high net worth individuals. Those seeking a long-term presence in the UAE.

According to the decision of the UAE Cabinet announced in mid-April this year, all these new administrative regulations related to entry and residence laws will come into force after 90 days from the date of issue in the official gazette. List of visas that were announced in April, most of them will come into effect next month and some of them have already been introduced;

• Multi Entry Tourist Visa:

The new five-year multi-entry tourist visa does not require a sponsor and allows a person to stay in the UAE for up to 90 days, which can be extended by a further 90 days, with a maximum of one person on this tourist visa. For a maximum stay of 180 days, the applicant must have 4,000 dollars (14,700 dirhams) or its foreign currency equivalent in the last 6 months prior to application.

• Business Visa:

Investors and entrepreneurs can apply for a business visa without the need for a sponsor or host.

• Visa for Visiting Relatives/Friends:

A foreigner can apply for this visa if he is a relative or friend of a UAE citizen or resident, no sponsor or host is required.

• Temporary Work Visa:

Those who have temporary work, such as probation testing or project-based work, can apply for this visa. Candidates want to need submit a temp work contract or a letter issue from the employer and proof of health fitness.

• Visa for Study/Training:

This visa is intended for individuals or students who wish to participate in training, study courses and internship programs, this visa can be sponsored by educational and research institutions in both the public and private sectors, for A letter from the institution is required specifying the details of the study or training or internship program and its duration.

• Family Visa:

Earlier, parents could only sponsor their children below 18 years of age, now male children can be sponsored up to the age of 25, disabled children also get special permission and unmarried daughters are not allowed. Can be sponsored for a fixed period.

• Employment Visa:

Job seekers can take advantage of this new visa to explore opportunities in the UAE, this visa will not require a sponsor or host and is for bachelor degree holders or equivalent fresher’s from the world’s top 500 universities. Awarded to graduates as well as those classified in the first, second or third skill level of the Ministry of Human Resources and the Emirates.

• Green Visa:

This five-year visa allows holders to bring their families without a sponsor or employer. This visa is available for skilled workers, self-employed, freelancers, etc. Other requirements include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and AED 15,000. Includes a minimum salary.

• Golden Visa:

UAE has announced golden visas for several professional categories and investors who want to enjoy the best quality of life in the country on a long-term basis, below is the list of golden visas for different categories.

• Real Estate:

A minimum investment of 2 million dirhams in real estate is required to qualify for this visa, investors buying property on mortgage and off-plan properties are also allowed if their total investment is 2 million dirhams or more.

• Startup:

Entrepreneurs can now get Golden Visa under three categories, (1) the startup is registered in the country, (2) must fall under SME, (3) annual revenue must be 1 million dirhams or more.

• Scientist:

Those who are experts in their field can apply for a golden visa if they meet the conditions which include a recommendation from the Emirates Science Council and a PhD in life science, natural sciences, technology and engineering from a top university or Master’s degree included.

• Extraordinary Skills:

People with exceptional talent in the fields of art, culture, digital technology, sports, innovation, medicine and law can apply for a Golden Visa, requiring a letter of recommendation or approval from the relevant government agency.

• Expert Craftsman:

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree, a valid employment contract, a line of employment under professional level one or two as defined by the Ministry of Human Resources and the Emirates and a minimum salary of 30,000 dirhams. Should have low monthly salary.

• Students:

Exceptional students who have achieved high scores in secondary schools and universities in the UAE or those who are admitted to the top 100 universities worldwide can apply for a Golden Visa.
