If you are a car buyer then you need to take the following steps to register your vehicle in Dubai;

  • Go to RTA website
  • Click on ‘Drivers and car owners service’ in ‘Services’ tab and select ‘Apply for registering a ‘new vehicle’.
  • You will then be asked to sign in using your UAE PASS account, once you complete the login process, you will be redirected to your personal dashboard.
  • Click on ‘vehicles’ and then click on ‘Register new vehicle’.
  • After that upload the following documents and details;
  • If you are buying a brand new car, upload the electronic conversion ownership certificate, if you have imported the car from outside the UAE, upload the export certificate.
  • Vehicle test certificate.
  • Gulf Specification Conformity Form (Test of UAE Standards) if the vehicle was not conforming to GCC specifications.
  • Electronic insurance certificate, which should be valid for six months or more.
  • Dubai-issued resident visa If you do not have a Dubai-issued visa, you must meet certain requirements such as permanent residence in Dubai to use this service.
  • Make payment electronically which is 400 dirhams with 20 dirhams acknowledgment and innovation fee.
