In this regard, RTA informed customers that they can complete the registration process by simply logging in with their UAE Pass, a smartphone application that acts as a digital account that you Provides access to thousands of government services.
If you are a car buyer then you need to take the following steps to register your vehicle in Dubai;
- Go to RTA website www.rta.ae
- Click on ‘Drivers and car owners service’ in ‘Services’ tab and select ‘Apply for registering a ‘new vehicle’.
- You will then be asked to sign in using your UAE PASS account, once you complete the login process, you will be redirected to your personal dashboard.
- Click on ‘vehicles’ and then click on ‘Register new vehicle’.
- After that upload the following documents and details;
- If you are buying a brand new car, upload the electronic conversion ownership certificate, if you have imported the car from outside the UAE, upload the export certificate.
- Vehicle test certificate.
- Gulf Specification Conformity Form (Test of UAE Standards) if the vehicle was not conforming to GCC specifications.
- Electronic insurance certificate, which should be valid for six months or more.
- Dubai-issued resident visa If you do not have a Dubai-issued visa, you must meet certain requirements such as permanent residence in Dubai to use this service.
- Make payment electronically which is 400 dirhams with 20 dirhams acknowledgment and innovation fee.
It is mentioned that after completing the registration process you can visit the RTA service center to get the plate number along with the registration certificate, if you don’t want to apply online for your vehicle registration, you can You can also apply at RTA Service Centers in Ramul, Al Manara, Deira or Al Barsha, you can also complete the registration process at an approved testing center like Tasjeel or Shimla.
However to complete the process at a center you need to have your car registered. Copies of insurance and Emirates ID will need to be provided.
